'Evening, squires. It's a horror-feast for this week's newsletter, my fiends, and to begin with I must talk about JOHN CONSTANTINE, HELLBLAZER, because DC Comics at long last seems poised to rectify a glaring omission in their collecting of the hard-luck magus's exploits. Shipping this week from ToW is the HELLBLAZER: THE DEVIL YOU KNOW TP, the long-awaited second collection of original HELLBLAZER writer Jamie Delano's run on the series. One of the medium's seminal works of horror, Delano's HELLBLAZER broke new ground in narrative and visual style when it came on the scene in 1987. Forged in the wake of Constantine's original appearances in Alan Moore's run on SWAMP THING, Delano went on to write the first 40 issues of HELLBLAZER (as well as an Annual), and has revisited the character many times since. I say Delano's run deserves collection in its entirety, and as I'm sure DC is awaiting sales figures on this new volume before committing its resources to future ones, I would urge all discerning horrorists to purchase THE DEVIL YOU KNOW to ensure they materialize. Also out this week is the 4th Printing of the flesh-eating juggernaut that is the MARVEL ZOMBIES HC, featuring an new Avengers homage cover by Arthur Suydam. In addition, Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead Book 2 HC is hot off the zombie press. And finally, I would direct your attention to the recently on-sale DEADMAN COLLECTION HC, featuring the artwork (and writing) of the legendary Neal Adams. We have elected to keep this book on sale at 50% off for awhile longer, so if you've been impaled on the fence about this one, now's the time for action!
